Fitting Cd Autochanger To A Yaris

Hi-Just a stab in the dark on behalf of a friend whom has just bought a 2002 02 plate Yaris GS. She has the standard Radio/cassette stereo and I see on the dash there is a button to select CD. I have seen on eBay an Alpine 6 disc changer with a Toyota to Alpine adapter. What I need to know is will I need to take the radio or dash apart to plug this in or does the Yaris come pre-wired to accept a CD changer? If so where would I find the pre-wiring plug/lead? Much appreciated for any help! :D

Hello!

You would need to take the dash off, but ITS REALLY EASY!!! and there are some great tutorials at the top of the yaris forum in the "how to" section.

Then to wire it in, I believe you just unplug the current wires, and put them "through the new changer" i.e. plug existing wires into cd changer adaptor, and plug cd changer into the radio unit.

I hope that sort of makes sense,

Lewis

PS also check out the excellent tutoral on installing a stealth cd mp3 player in the how to section.
