Ae92 Parcel Shelf

Hi All,

My AE92 GTi doesn't have a parcel shelf, so I am planning to do my best handy Andy impression at the weekend and knock one up out of MDF.

It would be very handy and I would be very very grateful, if one of you lovely chaps could spare the time to take some measurements of your AE92 parcel shelves for me. I'm just after rough outline measurements to give me a starting point.

sorry been real slack on this one, exactly what measurements do you need as the car will specify all the dimensions, wont it ???

Hi Jon,

No worries mate, I was just after the dimensions of the actual shelf, just incase there were any obvious differences to the rebates etc on the car.

No probs at all.

the shelf is a perfect fit for the hole, with maybe 1mm gap all around, the hardest profile will be the one across the back of the car under the rear screen.

To get a good template hold some car ontop of the plastic side sections and trace the outline from underneath and cut this out then transfer the shape onto some MDF and flip it over for the opposite side. also mark on where the small rod goes to make the hinge on each side and maybe use some dowell to reproduce these ?
