does anyone know when the clutch and timing belt are due for renwal on a turbo. also what is the lifespan of the turbo and tell tale signs that it is not up to scratch.

not totaly sure but i think cam belts are changed at about 60,000 miles

as for the turbo as long as you look after it, regular oil change ,quality synthetic and alowing time to warm and cool should last a good 100,000 plus. signs that something is amis are smoking on idle and rattling noises

dawesy's right cambelts are 60k or 5 yrs. turbo maintenance as he said, look after the turbo and it'll last a !Removed! long time (100k+)

Yeah, change oil on a Turbo every 3500 - 4000 miles and only use synthetic stuff (mineral oil will break down under the heat of the engine). Castrol GT Magnetec and Mobile M1 - 15W 50 (I believe) are good oils - though I haven't tried Mobile M1 yet.

i use magnatec in my rev 1 turbo and it never loses a drop. done about 11-12k in mine so far and it's about due for its 4th oil change
