Hi there there seems to be some type of brace under the engine, that seems to have ripped straight through with rust.

Can anybody identify this from my pic, and advise how to replace it and where from.

Also is the car still safe to be driven? the other side is perfect.

many thanks

vince

It's obviously there for a reason.

You could get it checked out at the dealers - you can't be far from Copcutts?

They'll tell you what it is and what they think the risk is, and quote you a price for parts and fitting.

If you don't like the price, at least you know where you stand and can then shop around for cheaper prices.

Its an underbody brace - quite common they go like that - we should have some in stock, give us a call if you like - 01676 530222.

Quite common and approx £20 to replace if its the little one that goes diagonally from the rear of the passenger compartment back :D

Not a major issue if it's not there but nice to get it replaced :D

Hey mr Mattmr2

Do you still have some of these brace struts?

I need a pair of them now as they have both rusted to breaking point.

Salvaged are fine if in good nick ;)

Somebody quoted me £130 per strut!!! im taking it these are aftermarket specialist struts, im just after a stock pair. ;)

ive noticed that the back end is twitching so i think this is down to the braces........................i hope!!!

The standard ones are only £20 from the main dealer. Somebody is quoteing you for the one over the engine.

Nope that was a quote for an underbody brace!!

the above engine cross brace was cheaper.................!

some people are only in it to make money.

Ive got the braces now, £30 for the pair ;)
