Toyota Carina E Gs Cd - Cd Player

Hiya all...

I just bought a Carina E GS CD, I found the CD player takes the cd, tried to read the CD and then ejects it, I have put *NEW* CD in there and still happenes, Yet on other occasions it may even play a CD untill i try to select a different track and then it decides not to go along with it and then ejects the disc...

Im getting quite frustrated with this and wonders if anyone can either help with solving the problem or know anyone who can repair the Player...

I had the same problem. Sounds like the cd lens is dirty. I would get a cd cleaner and clean it. I actually tried it and mine wouldn't even take the cleaner cd, so basically it was ineffective. I took it to an automotive electrician to look at ( because I was taking it for the alarm, but asked them about this anyway). They said they just cleaned it and now it's working fine. I don't know how they managed to do it, but if you have a cd cleaner disc lying around. Just pop it in and it might do the trick.
