Engine Cutting Out

I HAVE A G REG COROLLA WHEN I AM DRIVING THE ENGINE JUST CUTS OUT.

WHEN TRYING TO START BACK UP AGAIN IT TICKS OVER BUT DOES NOT FIRE UP.

JUST REPLACED AIR , OIL FILTER AND PLUGS YESTERDAY.

I wonder when the fuel filter was last changed. Should have a new one every 25,000 miles or so.

FUEL FILTER BEEN CHANGED RECENTLY.

SEEM TO THINK IT IS SOMETHING ELECTRICAL AS JUST CUTS STRAIGHT OUT.

ANY IDEAS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bridge the engine management terminals in the diagnostics connector and read the lights on the dash.

More than likely dodgy connection in the MAP sensor (or the sensor itself). I had this with my GTi last year. I only found it by accident after doing two succesive full services and changing all the ignition system components (expensive and the originals turned out to be fine any way).
