:help: Hi Peeps,

just wanting a bit of adivce really.........

Right was wanting to up the boost slightly on my Rev4 to around 15psi, I believe this is the ball park figure that people say can be run quite safely. Now I was going to go the Boost Gauge/G-Valve root, but I quite like the idea of been able to select different Boost levels, say for different conditions/moods etcs......... Well as look would have it I've come a across and APEXI AVC-R. From what i can read this should do very nicely for what i want. But heres the question.

The APEXI AVR-C has in it a close loop Boost control system along with the ability to display Boost Pressure in real-time, So is there any reason that i would still need an Mechanical Boost Gauge ????? The only reason i ask is that i not too keen on having one of these stuck on top of the dash :(

Regards Lee

Hi mate the AVC type R basicly will display everything you need to know

Boost in real time in KG/CM2

Revs

Speed in KMPH

And lots of other stuff

As for will you need a mechanical boost controller as well, in a word no as the AVCR will do the lot.

They can take a bit of time to set up but they are very good as i had one on my Rev 2 Tubby

IMO if you have a decent EBC like the AVCR up to the 18 psi FC is no issue what so ever. Just don't go boosting hard all over the place in the roasting sun etc.

:D bring on 17 psi then ;)

Seriously I've been running about 16-17 odd psi for almost 2 years now, no problems what so ever & a nice healthy 263 RWHP.

Cheers
