Right lets say id have 5k to spend and im really interested in a yaris.....what spec would you recommend or are most specs worth more than 5k, if so then would i be best sticking with my second choice....a clio?

You should be able to get an 01/02 SR for around the 5K mark!

Has all the mod cons and is a 1.3!

or if you were lucky could possibly pick up a T-sport if you could push your budget a bit

wot about the insurance tho?....is it still relatively cheap? id like to have a car i can enjoy and not worry about financial strain.....lol.

Its in insurance group 7 so it shouldn't cost that much to insure, get a quote and see if you could afford it!

I'd recommend a T-Sport if at all possible though!

Someone.... I cant remember who.... just picked up a 51 plate T-Sport for about 5k very recently.....

I think a few members have some for sale too, chrisb is selling his I believe, but I'm not sure of the price.

Insurance should be reasonable, as long as you havent got silliness on your policy like me!
