Too Fast?

ok when i am in drive and im not touching any pedals my car goes like 10 miles per hour and increases very slowly. When i throw it in neutral it revs a little but not a whole lot. Now im not gonna lose sleep over this im just making sure its not a major problem that will turn into bad news. If its fixable how might i go about doing it? Thanks for all the help
