Hi,

** Warning Newbee**

I have found the OBD-II connector near the steering it has a plastic cover over it and is marked OBD-II, now the question is can I use some software like this http://www.obddiagnostics.com/ProgWin.html

As I understand it many uk cars don’t support the OBD interface, so any advice is truly appreciated.

Cheers for any info

Hello dogo

The Avensis T25 plattform (03 &onwards) conforms to the EOBD regulation and is mostly compatible to the US OBD2 standard. You need the ISO 9141-2 protocol Interface an I use the gear from

http://www.scantool.net

for my Avensis and it works a treat. Had to simulate a sensor fault in order to validate the DTC and resetting of MIL.

I just came across this supplier via Google:

Anyone got any experience with this?

Edit: this one looks similar (sans software), and is a lot more affordable:
