Sounds like the oil pressure warning light. Is there any oil in the engine? Remove the dipstick from the engine, clean with a rag then put back. Wait a few moments, then withdraw it. The level on the stick should be between "Low" and "Full" (normally this should be done on a flat surface with a warm engine - but if there's no oil in the engine DO NOT RUN IT or the pistons may SEIZE SOLID in the bores (i.e. totally knackered!).
