:eek::eek::eek::eek:

I find that the brakes on AE92 GTi's are brillaint (so long as rear calipers aren't seized :lol: ).

In fact from my experiance I find the brakes on all Corollas superb (most 'confident' brakes I've ever felt on a car) and it seems to make no difference whether they are Disc all round or Discfront/drum rear.

What condition are you front discs in as well carroded front discs can hamper a little bit.

Oh dont get me wrong,there all good as they are.Discs are 5 months old and are in great condition.Im just gonna be a bit concerned if she supercharged..

Mr Jon barnes fitted Levin GT-Z calipers to his later red ae92 4agze.Now ive had a look on the EPC and it seems that the twin pot calipers fitted to that model has superstrut surpension,and not sure on the caliper carriers fitting...

MR JON BARNES... ARE U THERE...??

i must admit, i'm impressed with the brakes on mine, considering it's age. as was a mate of mine the other week - he drives a corsa ( :rolleyes: ), and had drove mine before, and kept saying how awful the brakes on mine were (he's used to the completley over servoed brakes on his - he just wasn't pushing the pedal hard enough!)

anyway, a couple of weeks ago, we were going along a dual carriageway, coming up to a roundabout, and were alongside each other. we approached the roundabout, quite fast, and a car then came around the roundabout, also going quite fast, so we both had to slam on. i stopped fine - his locked up and skidded halfway on to the roundabout

i sort of know what you mean though - they seem to feel a bit "dead" when start to really press on them. or mine do, anyway

IMO, the stock brakes are brilliant on the GTI. I've always nearly locked them up so easily on hard braking. God knows how I will skid if I used uprated brakes.

I'm also seriously considering to put in the 4AGZE around Easter next year. I intend to track my GTI a lot and gonna fit all the FMIC, lightened pulley etc. available from Fensport's Website. Then, I'll fit an ECU and tune it.

As for the brakes department, I will be just fitting slotted disc brakes for the fronts, high temp race pads and braided brake lines all round and recon my rear calipers and get new slotted discs for the rear.

I bet I'll still be locking up easily under hard braking cos the car is just so light. I do intend to strip off all the rear seats, trim and fit 2 bucket seats.

This is my dream thoughh.......Just need to save up quite a bit. :(

Whe I had my GTI I went to these guys: http://www.apexperformance.co.uk

I know they specialise in 200SX parts but if you phone em they'll get whatever you want. I went for Brembo 12 groove disks and Mintex 1144 pads. The combination tripled my braking power and there was no fade at all!!

I think I paid about £150 for the lot!
