Diagnostic Code 1135

The engine light on my Rav4 2.0L VVTI VX auto 2001 has recently come on. After getting my own mechanic to run a check on his computer the diagnostic code 1135 has been displayed. Unfortunately he doesn't know what this code means! I have been told by my local Toyota garage that they want £60 to run their diagnostic computer on the car!!!! I am guessing that it is an oxygen sensor that needs replacing but have no idea which one - I understand there are 4. Any help gratefully received.

First off welcome to the Rav4 section of the TOC  .

I was told some time back, that the oxygen sensors do play up on the later shape Rav4's :( ,thats not to much of a problem, but what is...if the sensor can't be undone from the Cat ,it then needs a new one ..... fingers crossed  .

I must admit, I thought they used two digit codes.

Are you sure that isn't two codes?

The codes for rav4 oxygen sensors are p0135,P0136 or similar

These are the new versions of the old 2 digit codes when using a check wire in the dignostic plug

Ig you can get the P code, i can tell you which sensor it is ;)

Bob is also spot on with his comments about removal, they can rip the threads out of the manifolds
