Nine right, got the ratio of English to Welsh and Scottish wrong. Not bad after a decade away!

Actually, I'll be over this weekend showing my son the fireworks (and Xmas shopping).

I did notice you hadn't posted on that one - you must have been away.

It was good to recall it anyway with the recent media coverage it has had

The way of doing these tests is a bit crazy..english speaking immigrants have to do it, yet ones with a poor understanding of english don't have too?? Surely that's just wrong!

Distric Council seat for me with 10 correct answers.

Not overly sure this is the right way to become a UK citizen though, I'm sure there must be better ways to show your integration into and allegience to a community and country. Anyways, I'll just claim not to understand Shakespeare's language all that well and get it all without having to pass a silly test.

Yves.

Technically they are correct as it has to be 230V with a Tolerance of -5% to +6% so 240 is within tolerances!

But you are right that it demonstrates how crap the questions are if they don't even get them right

Me and Rich were talking about this and I'm sure they've had a similar system in the States for a few years....

So there we were talking, and I mention this one in the States and he says "Where do you know that from"

"Well, Apu had to take one in the Simpsons" I reply! Which is true, because he did.... but does anyone know if I'm actually right and all my years of watching The Simpsons has taught me something about American Life?

Well I got 11 out of 14. Someone else sent it to me yesterday.

As far as the voltage question that they later dumped, it's been 230V since 2004.
