What Does This Warning Light Mean?

A red exclamation mark: (!) on the left hand side of the instrument panel. It comes on for a second whilst corning tightly. I suspect it indicates low brake fluid - I suppose I should check the level really.

Any other ideas?

  Brake fluid low...  Check your front pads arent low....

My front pads are quite low, I already knew that. That's why I'm not concerned about the brake fluid being low, as long as I know why.

I am not too bothered about the pads wearing out as I need to replace the disks anyway - they are the original disks, and only the second set of pads. Not bad for a 15 year old car!

Does this mean your actually going to change the fluid as well?

I don't know about that - I might never be able to adjust to a braking system in tip-top condition. I avoid using them wherever possible anyway, tyres are cheaper than petrol and brakes.

Really, I will change the fluid as well, the moisture that it holds can cause corrosion in the ABS unit.
