I love the new toyota engined elises/exiges. What a waste. I'd never trust anyone with my car keys if I had somthing like that. I'd need somthing like I have with my celica, where the key has a transponder, and 2/4 keys from the set won't start the engine.

Why which key(s) won't start the car? I've got three two black and one grey - all start the car but they grey one can't get in the boot

I was told I can get one cut, based on the grey key (which starts but can't open boot or glove box) without a transponder that will just open/close the doors. Not sure though.

Shocking though... Some little !Removed! takes his car for a ride and piles it for him. W***ers! I don't care if he's rich or not, it's still taking the :censor:. I'd be out for blood!

Cheers,

Jim

I like the bit..

The car was being spruced up for a buyer, but the sale had now fallen through, he said.

Can't understand why the sale fell through... like he's surprised... "but you said you'd buy it"!!!

There must be a lot of similar incidents........... :bookworm:

A Prestige Sports Car dealer I knowe in London, told me that a couple of 19 yr olds came into his showroom once back in 97 and paid Cash (Daddy's Cash mind you) for a TT Supra Mk 4. they promptly got into it put it into gear and drove off out of the car lot, across the road and through the window of the travel agents directly opposite the car lot...........

The had misjudged the power, being owners of an Escort before this...........They found out the power the hard way...........

He added that the buyer was "really upset" at what had happened to the Lotus.

Really? You do surprise me!

I use car valeters a lot as it's not really practical to wash the car myself where I live (any excuse! :P ). I always watch them closely though and nearly fainted when I saw one person, a young girl who was quite short, using aluminium stepladders to get to the roof of my car to wax it!

They have a disclaimer saying they don't accept responsibility for any damage caused. I've always wondered about the legality of that.

Knowing my luck i wouldnt get away with it :crybaby::lol: ;)

Sounds like a good idea...

Oh, you mean getting a Chav to use the petrol on the car to start a fire? Right.

I was thinking of something else!

Jim

ive seen this car its local, the owner had it fitted with a supercharger and spent a fortune modding it with a timed 0-60 of 3.2secs the car is now at lambhill garage (local scrap/body repairs) i saw it the other day whilst looking for bits for the Mrs punto (again) the crash happened on the marsh barton ind estate in exeter. the local rag reported the other day that there was an insurance wrangle due to the valeter not having permission to drive off the business property and that the exige owner was going to have to take hime to court to reclaim the money.

It's all quite simple. Get the guy that did it and get him to sell his organs on eBay to pay the damages! I'm guessing a BIN price of £0.99 on the brain ;)

Cheers,

Jim
