Full Lock

When I turn the Yaris (Borris) round or turn in to my drive way (with the steering wheel at full lock).

I hear a sound that sounds like two bits of metal are just tuching each other.

Like a kind of "Ching ching"

it's like the sound that I would expect the exorst to sound like if it was hitting somthing.

I just wondered if this was something to worry about. :(

It's not really loud but it's there

Borris is all stock nothing has been changed or modifided under the bonnet or car.

So what do you think, I'll hand it over to you.

your yaris is an s right?

cos i have an s (no PAS) and when i turn out of the drive or make really tight turns i hear a clanging noise - i think it could be the wheel rubbing slightly more so since i fitted the wider 15s (never heard it with the stock 13s on)

Thanks for the quick response,

that’s right I have the Yaris S (No power steering)

LOL no, nothing - NO: Elec windows, ABS, Central Locking, Air Conditioning.

The drive way is clear, it's been going on for a little while, I just thought it was just sound bouncing up from the gravel drive way.

But it happened this morning when turning in the road.

Do other Yaris S owners hear this? :( other than me and ЪV€

What are CV Joints? Are these damaged through Wear and tear?

I hope there aren’t to many questions there lol.

yup its the CV, they are a tri-bearing type, and on full lock its on such an angle that it momentarily pops one bearing out, thats the clunking noise

I Found This. It's very helpful in understanding the CV Joint

So is this dangerous? also are there any other symptoms to look out for?

£70.00 is that about right?

Website

I do like the knowlagable fokes who don't mind giving good advice.
