Sat Nav Overheating

Hi,

I have an Avensis Verso with the full screen sat nav.

The other day (sunday, when it was frosty) my wife drove the car to Gatwick to pick me up. As it was cold, the heater was on and on the way back the sat nav stopped working with an error message saying that the disk could not be read.

When I opened the unit to remove the DVD, it was amost too hot to touch. It continued to malfunction all the way home, but since then it has been working ok.

My theory is that it is being overheated by the air blower, which comes out just above it but I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem?
