1996 Granvia Stereo Facsia Panel

I want to change the sterio on my 1996 Granvia.

I have removed the ash tray, and two screws that look to hold the facia panel in place. I can pop the bottom of this panel out, but it gets stuck where the air outlets are located. I do not want to go any further as it sounds as if I may break the panel at the top. Any help much appeciated

Hi... I just replaced the stereo in my Granvia. The two screws in the ashtray are the only ones holding the panel in place - there are 3 prongs that hold the top of the panel into the dash, and they have to be eased out very gently. The panel should be drawn out as straight as possible forwards, easing it gently from side to side, and the prongs should dislodge. The vents come out with it, but watch out for several cables that are attached to the hazard switch, the heater controls, the clock and the cigar lighter. There should be enough slack in them to move the panel to the side so you can work on the stereo, or they can be disconnected to remove the panel completely. Depending on what you have in your Granvia already, the reconnection of a new stereo might be tricky. Be warned - I had an old Toyota Sat Nav with a CDROM under the front passenger seat, and the wiring was a !Removed!! The connectors were nothing like the ones the Sony WX-C570 I bought to replace it came with, and I had to remove the front seat and trace the cabling back to find the power feeds and speaker cables, which all went to under the seat, and not to the dash. If you're not electrically minded, I would recommend you take it to an in car audio specialist to figure it out for you. Good luck! Dave
