Cleaning Maf Sensor

There may be occasions when your car develops an erratic idle. This may be due to a dirty Manifold Airflow Sensor. The sensors may have been covered over by dust and oil reducing their sensitivity.

The cleaner I used is an off the shelf cleaner for spray cleaning fuel injection throttle bodies.

I would not recommend using WD-40 or its equivalent as it would leave an oily residue.

I would also not recommend an electrical switch cleaner as some solvents may damage the thermistor

The procedure is:

1) unplug the connector to the MAF sensor

2) remove two phillips head screws

3) spray clean the sensor at the points indicated. allow the MAF to air dry

4) Reassemble

Thanks to gerard from echo fans for this
