Cleaning Maf Sensor

There may be occasions when your car develops an erratic idle. This may be due to a dirty Manifold Airflow Sensor. The sensors may have been covered over by dust and Oil reducing their sensitivity.

The cleaner I used is an off the shelf cleaner for spray cleaning fuel injection throttle bodies.

I would not recommend using WD-40 or its equivalent as it would leave an oily residue.

I would also not recommend an electrical switch cleaner as some solvents may damage the thermistor

The procedure is:

1) unplug the connector to the MAF sensor

2) remove two phillips head screws

3) spray clean the sensor at the points indicated. allow the MAF to air dry

4) Reassemble
