Steering

On my 2001 SR, the steering is feeling very very heavy when it gets about half way through the steering lock both ways, fluid was fine when last checked, however it does seem a bit noisey, tyre pressures are also fine

Anyone got any suggestions as to what would be causing this, so i have an idea before it goes into the garage tommorow.

check flud again, check to see if the power steering belt has snapped.

if the belt had snapped wouldn't it be heavy all the time.

if not the case where do i check the belt?

and is there any other possibilities?
