Oil Pressure Gauge

I have a 89 corolla sr5 4A-f 1.6 I want to put a oil gauge in. The gauge I want to put in says to drill a hole in the engine block. I thinking that’s a lot of work. So is there a spot I can put it or can I take out the oil pressure warning sensor or the oil pressure sender and where is the oil pressure sender on the engine any way. I like to know please.

Hi 89SR5!

I used to have a 93 ae101 with a 4af. Well, I've never thought about that, but what I probably do is to find the OIL Preasure Sensor (for the dash light), take it off and install a "T" pipe between the sensor and the light sensor. Then I would put the new sensor in the other hole, the free hole of the "T" pipe you have installed. Remember to seal it very well to avoid oil leaks.

I did this job in a Renault 11 ( my first car) when I installed the oil preasure gauge.

Hope this helps!!!
