Ok... due to me getting locked out of my car the other night and only the passenger door working I have some nice muddy foot prints on the drivers seat.

What's the best way to clean my lovely sparco seats???

thanks for any info

One of the mousse spray cans like Autoglym upholstery cleaner. Shake, spray on and it will lift out the dirt.

Before you do that though, if the dirt and seat are dry, use a soft nylon brush to gently remove any surface dirt.

I dunno, I would have thought carpet cleaner would be too abrasive on that sort of material?? I would recommend something like the Autoglym stuff, as Al suggested....

Aye Jimbo, try that Autoglym stuff, I've got a bottle of it here but I've not yet tried it! If other Autoglym products are anything to go by it'll be top dollar!:thumbsup:

I’ve tried all the foamy stuff, the aerosol type and the eco friendly foaming nozzle type and they are both crop (sp) they leave uneven damp patches and are not that good in my opinion.

The best method I have used is a bucket of mild detergent with a well wrung out cloth.

My seats suffer from watermarks and I find this the best method, I must admit I only do it when the weather is warm or the seats will never dry and you always suffer from misted up windows.

They are getting a bit scruffy now so I might try a VAX when the weather improves.

My Mum has a Polti steam cleaner which is brilliant at getting marks off cloth/carpet, so if all else fails see if you can get it steam cleaned maybe?

The Jet garage has a seat and mat cleaner next to the air line.

You just soak the base of the seat with the soap then dry it with the hoover part.

Not tried it though so dunno how good/bad it is.

Well I can only speak of my own experiences but when I bought my first, pre-registered Yaris, I was assured that it had only been used by one of the salesmen and no-one had been in the back seats.

Yeah, right! So how come the back of the driver's seat had a white sticky mark on it? <careful!>. I think it was from a kid's sweets or ice cream. Anyway, one squirt of the Autoglym foam, a wipe with a damp cloth (that's to remove any residue that could dry and leave a mark) and... good as new.
