:ffs: how do i remove the bracket on the box under the seat, so that i can get to the green button on my carina 1996

Take the seat out - its only 4 bolts(14mm spanner/socket)

Bend the tab up to expose the green button and the dip switches. If your looking for it to code a new alarm/central locking fob then insert key to ign 'on', press the green button til security indicator light illuminates then press BOTH buttons on remote. If successful, you'll hear a relay click but you need to press the green button again and repeat the afore mentioned step if you have anymore fobs as programming just the new fob will disable old ones. All have to be programmed at the same time.
