Cd Player Volume Low

when i insert a CD it plays, but i have to turn it up ALL the way just to hear anything. The radio works fine, but the CD volume is really really low, can you help me out? I have a 1990 celica btw

What stereo do you have? Standard or Aftermarket?

If its an aftermarket who fitted it?

How long have you had it installed?

Sounds like the Speakers are wired into the wrong place or the voltage is too low. Are you running anything like a sub etc? Disconnect it and try again. Also try it with just two Speakers at a time.

its a factory head unit w/factory Speakers and no additional subs or amps. I had this problem ever since i bought the car 5 years ago. How do I check the connections/take out the head unit.

In that case the head unit is knacked. I'd buy a new one anyway if its a factory one, wont cost too much for a new head unit.
