Apexi Remap

i've finally decided to buy apexi, BUT thing is where should i get it mapped? thor or zen performance?

i know you will say zen is a scooby specialist but has anyone ever heard of pavlo? he's some mapping genius or something.

anyway, what do you think mapping estimate for power is on a rev 3 with:

Greddy intercooler

ARC induction box

Decat downpipe

read somewhere the downpipe can make up to 15lbs of torque  not sure about that but anything to improve the breathing helps.

is replacing the cambelt gonna be a pain in the ***** also?

gotta get the clutch fitted at somepoint too, all the bits are sat on my bedroom floor at the moment

got an exedy 3 plate semi racing clutch, lightened flywheel. i should buy some new bearings and slaves while im at it right? thinking to refresh it so that would be the best option.

i'm pretty sure i've heard pablo (or whatever his name is) has mapped another mr2 turbo around oxford. could also try abbey motorsport or if you want to run your car very rich go to thor. it was mr2lover off of mr2oc.co.uk and imoc.co.uk who may have had his mapped by this chap

set your sights on around 300bhp. with those mods i'd expect higher but that's a good figure to aim for still

Nod at THOR did a fine job on mine

heh heh yeah read your post last night about it, top stuff. but was that a standard run or had you replaced the ECU already?

what can the stock internals take? did anyone read in japanese performance ages ago about this dude that made his revision 1 400bhp with JUST bolt on mods? amazing!

cars got eManage

ive been told the pistons can take around 330bhp and the rods are good upto about 400....

i kinda doubt a rev1 would either make or in fact last very long at 400bhp with stock internals

There's a mr2 in the US running 500bhp on standard internals. As long as the map is tuned correctly it will be ok.

There's a thread over on imoc about this.

the mapping not going to do anything for the extra heat and pressure being laden on the standard pistons though ;)

but it's the detonation that would kill them. Correct mapping = no detonation.

Not saying you could go on and on.. increasing the bhp as obviously there'll come a point where forgies are required. Just saying 400bhp should be acheivable on stock internals.
