Avensis Alloys

Hi guys just got meself a '98 Avensis CDX but the wheels are flaking. I've been debating what to do with 'em, what do you think?

1. Get the originals refurbed (they got superb tyres on 'em)?

2. Source some s/h Toyota replacements?

3. Go the aftermarket route?

To retain the comfort I think I'll probably stick with 15"'s. Personally I like the fat 5 spokes on the Avensis best, although I quite like the TSW Alpines fitted to the SE model, what do you think?

What would 17's on an unlowered car look like? Pants I reckon.

Ho hum....well what do you think I should do?

Refurbing will cost around £100 or so (for all 4 wheels).. and getting the tyres removed, then refitted and balanced on the wheels will be around £10... so, do the maths and work out yourself what route you want to go... remember too, that IF you stick with 15" on a new set, you can (for around £10 each) get your tyres changed over to the new alloys.

Check out Rochford tyres for an idea on what price and types of wheels you like.

I had the same problem, except i did not alloys to begin with

i opted for aftermarket 17's the car did need lowering with them as it looked very silly

this is how it looked with the 40mm lowering springs and the 17's too
