Immobiliser Blues!

Hi all,

I have only just joined, but have owned my pride and joy MR2 for about 6 months. The problem is that I have managed to lose the set of keys I was given when I got the car. I had a spare key cut, but couldn't make a duplicate of the immobiliser fob as no companies I phoned seemd to know how.

So now I am stuck, able to get into the car but not drive it! It is a 92 (I think!) MR2 GTS T-Bar turbo, with a J reg plate and was imported from Japan a few years ago.

I wonder if anyone knows if these cars were fitted with the same kind of immobiliser so I might be able to go to the manafacturer and see if they can help? My only other option will be to ring a local (slightly cowboy) company to let them loose at ripping out and replacing the current immobiliser.

Even any advice on where I find the immobiliser to I can check it's make/model etc would be much appreciated!
