I wanted to avoid doing that because I'd need to strengthen it after cutting and filling it.

But it would look very good..... I think I'll leave it standard, but no doubt, I'll change my mind later on

no strengthening required just apply glass fibre matting to the rear side of the bumper, making sure its well keyed and then fill and smooth.
