No offece, but why on earth would you want them balanced on the car? unless something else is unbalnced, in which case it needs replacing!!!

As far as I know wheels can't be balanced on the car, as the balancing machine works by inputs from the shaft that the wheel is being spun on!

Same here, never heard of them being balanced while 'on' the car. If you did that then taking the wheel off and putting it back on a bolt round would throw it back off again which makes putting your spare on a nightmare.

Maybe you didnt mean that? Do you just mean balancing as per normal?

They used to do it years ago by jacking up the car, pushing a motor driven roller onto the tyre then use a strobe to find the ballance points. I only remember this because I'm an old fart though ;)

I have seen it done years ago.

Just one question - Why?

I must agree with Karma - if something else it out of balance, it must be bent!

If it's because you have fitted after-market alloys - make sure that you have fitted the centering rings (Spigot rings). If you don't have then, they are available from Revolution Motorstore in Gateshead.

I had my wheels balanced on the car at the Toyota Garage after they messed up the handling. I had already taken it back twice after they had balanced them on the machine before they decided to do it on the car.

It was impressive to watch them do it. They jacked the car up and then pushed a machine up to the wheel to do the balancing bit (not entirely sure how they got it to work).

So in answer to the original post, Mr T's may be able do it for you (at least the old Wakefield branch did it)
