Carina E Water Pump

hi i'm just wondering if anybody has changed water pump and how hard it is to get out have seen water pump on eBay for £30 and want to fit my self,seen on other threadsthat it takes about 3 hours,i also agree with wil that there should be a seperate forom for the carina thaks pete.

If you have a Haynes Manual. The procedure is relatively complicated and fiddly. I did mine 3 months ago. You MUST have the following tools otherwise don't start:

For the pulley wheel which MUST be unbolted from the pump

10mm ring spanner (they must be similar to these

as you need an offset. A socket set will not fit. If you 'round' these bolts you will have to drop the engine!!!

A pulley strap
