A Few Questions :)

 Hello everyone,

Ive just purchased my t sport and am a newbie to this site. I would just like to ask a few questions any help would be greatly appreciated.

K Is the t sport actually lowered? i dont think it is, its got bigger wheels on so there for makes it look lower is this correct?

Also 15's or 16's? Ive seen some tsw 15's which are smoked, these would suit my car due to it being thunder gray.

Pi springs or tte springs? how far do tte springs lower the vehicle, is it 35mm?

And exhaust, i dont a clue, any suggestions

LOL just a few  K well thanks a gain hope to hear from you soon

Drew

welcome to the club

the t-sport hasn't got lower springs I think it's just got a lower chassis than the other yarii.

Yor choice for the wheels both fit fine, never go for 17's offset of 38 PCD 4x100

Pi Springs are crap and they lower 40mm they sag after time, the TTE one's are the same as the Eibach springs and they lower 30mm, but for a few quid extra i'd go for the teins as they lower 35mm front and 38mm rear for a more even look and are the best springs available for the yaris cost about £150.

Exhaust depending on budget go Jap and get a decent one like the fujitsubo not cheap at £360 for just the backbox but it's a great exhaust, just received mine today and it's one of the best exhaust i've seen, excellent build quality.

or a HKS exhaust, or go custom.

not sure what it sounds like in real life, but everyone recommends it, I need to wait untill I get my car back before i can fit mine, but the exhaust is jasma rated.

here's a sound clip of kerby's fujitsubo with a sports cat & header if you can get the file to work

I called up Envy performance to order my backbox and they said the HKS Silent Hi-Power woulden't fit on my t-sport :crybaby:

I was left undecided and saddened, shivering like a cry baby under my sheets until I read this post.

Armouredfist, you may just have been my knight in shining armour to my rescue!

After listening to that clip the Fuji sounds quite aluring! - The reason I wanted the HKS so bad is because I do alot of motorway driving, and was thinking it perfect to keep the noise levels down when cruising...

Any Idea whether the fuji will be too overwhelming for motorway usage?...... SAVE ME ARMOUREDFIST!!!! I'M GOING INSANE!!

hehe i love that clip :P my cuz who is comin to jae with me tomorrow was worried about the noise on the way down there. took him for a drive tonight and he was suprised. the fuji with the cat and manifold id pretty quiet at a steady 80-90 but when goin up hills gets noisier and really noisey when u floor it :D

oh and if u think its loud in the clip its 10 times louder in person :D

Do the Teins lower the car that much, that it can't go over speed bumps and the like?

or does Earpl have aftermarket splitter / front bumper and the like?

I am tempted by the TEIN Basic Damper system, but if you can't drive the car over speedbumps - forget it, as that makes the car quite useless on some of the roads round here :(

earpl has the tein superwagons and i have the basics. only reason it puts us i nthe weeds is cos we have them near the bottom cos the car looks mint when it is :P anyway the coilovers can be adjusted so that u can have the ride hight at near the same as standard if needed

The fuji is jasma rated so it's quiet low down in the revs but loud when you floor it, and it's rated about 98dB.

So it shouldn't be extremely loud.

what year t-sport do you have as a few people on here have the HKS exhaust on their t-sports, so i'm pretty sure one should fit, and just because it says silent hi power does not make the exhaust quiet.

doh.... think we were talking about springs not coilys first :P

the springs from TEIN are probably the best you can get, the first time i had a go in a yaris with them fitted (clarkys) i thought they were coilys :o

plus the lower the front and rear to different and exact levels, even the TTE (Eibach) ones dont acheive that

I was thinking about getting the Basic Damper setup from TEIN

but it occurred to me, that the standard dampers on the Yaris might be fine, it might be the springs that are all soft and causing body-roll. Buying TEIN springs without the dampers sure saves a lot of cash...

From what you just said there, Jaxx - this appears to be the case?

If I bought the springs, could I buy dampers and add them later if I found the standard ones not very good.

Or do you have to fork out £500 for the basic damper kit?

koni's are your best bet for dampers afterwards, you'll be looking at about £350 - £400 for the set of 4 plus the price of the teins about £150

total £550 max

tein basic coilovers are only £520

not much difference in price just depends which you prefer, also the coilovers are ajustable, with the springs you'll be stuck at one height

Yeah that sounds nice, im wanting something that not to loud on the motor way but has a nice burble sound when you punch it :) hmmm will have to start saving. . .

So tein springs it is then, ive just checked and the springs that they show dont come up for the yaris, am i being stupid???

Oh and that exhasut is a bit much, might consider second hand, any exhausts for sale????

order your springs from envy performance. they are on the list but there's no price so you'll have to give them a ring to order.

as for the exhaust most japanese exhausts are expensive, but very high quality,

I have one for sale if you fancy making me an offer, but then you will have to go to an exhaust specialist as I don't know if it's a 100% perfect fit for a t-sport, so the pipes may need shortening or bending a touch more, and it will need welding on.

it's a powerflow exhaust, it will need welding between the cat and middlebox (cat back exhaust) it's all stainless steel, but it may need slight alteration to fit the backbox, as this exhaust was on my 1.3 so it's never been on a t-sport. I really want to get rid of it so say £100 excluding postage, it will either need to be picked up or you'll have to arrange postage.

yes it's in north wales

I would post it but it's a big item, so it will be expensive, sometimes it's cheaper to drive, unless you want to contact a courier service and ask them how much to pick the item up and deliver to you.
