For anybody who is using a Dell laptop that was shipped between 1st of April 2004 and 18th of July 2006 please click on the link below and make sure you don't need a replacement Battery.

Apparently there is a risk that they can catch fire if they overheat.

If you still can't figure out if you need a replacement Battery, click on the Identify Recalled Battery radio button at the bottom of the page and follow the instructions. It will tell you if your battery needs replacing or not free of charge.

I'd suggest doing this on someone elses computer, and not on your Dell Laptop..........just in case it catches fire !

If your laptop is plugged into the mains, simply remove the Battery... you won't do no harm by doing so ;)

In fact I'm using mine without the Battery in it and do so most of the time :thumbsup:
