Help needed please........toyota audio!

anybody know if this headunit is a standard double din?

can it be changed easily?

is there any adaptors to use steering wheel controls?

Hi Terry,

Head unit is a double-din behind the display, but to avoid gaps in the front left and right, you need to buy special spacers (the toyota unit is a "wide" double-din) - they are actually very reasonably priced.

Don't know about steering wheel controls myself - some makes do adapters. Note that you will also lose the fuel computer feature as well if you change your head unit (unless you get another compatible Toyota unit, of course ;) )

Saw in the Demon Tweeks catalog that Connect2 are selling adapters that allow the main replacement headnit makers (Alpine, JVC, Sony, etc) to connect into the car makers Steering Wheel controls.

Looks like price is around £25 for the basic adapter, plus £4 for the car-specific part (Toyota IS listed as an option :thumbsup:)
