Turbo Timer/starter Motor Problems

I have a highly annoying problem with my 92 GT. I had an electronic turbo timer installed in my car but for some reason, periodically, the starter motor would engage when timer kicked in. This could be when the key was turned, when taken out, or while the key was not even in the barrel. I took it to an auto electrician, who said the problem was the timer itself. He replaced this... $200 later, it's still the same.

I took it in to another auto electrician, who replaced the ignition switch and barrel... another $250 later (I had to anyway, as a thief tried to steal my car over the weekend and smashed the ignition system with a hammer - nice one). This seemed to work okay for about a week, then the problem returned. So now the timer sits, unused in the car... and I sit in the car for a minute and manually turn it off.

So short of taking it to yet another electrician and getting charged yet again for nothing, has anyone here experienced such a problem or know of a way to stop this from happening? I'm stuck! Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

im no electrician but for the starter to engage through another circuit the wires or feeds have to be linked can you pick up your live feeds from a different circuit,has the feeds for the timer been picked up from the ignition switch opposed to a live from the fuse box .hope that helps

I'm no auto electrician either but it seems the ones I've gone to so far are completely stumped as to why this error is happening. It seems I'd have had more luck flushing my money down and loo and asking the cat. B)

A friend of mine mentioned wiring in a diode, but if it's that simple surely an electrician would have taken this step already?
