Later models have them in the fuel tank, earlier are mounted in engine bay & can be awkward to change.

If it's in tank probably never. If engine bay, every 4 years or 50,000 miles.

1,6 petrol 2002 here...

...........It was never changed in my car(at the moment 65000km)................, according to service plan(schedule), filter must be changed in cars/models with engines CDE... & NDE... every 60 000km or every 72 months.

CDE & NDE are codes for diesel engines,code for petrol engines is ZZE.... so, obviously there is no need to change....

...I think so
