AT light is coming on only now and then and only on the highway ... it has being scanned and the transmission shop says there are no errors (none at all)

It is also barely running when it is cold but that clears up within 2 minutes. There is also no charge light and no braking system light that ever comes on in the instrument panel ...not even when the key is in the on position or as it is starting. Can anyone give me any suggestion where I can start to even get the diagnostic system working on the car to see if any problems do exist.
