Alas the Corolla is to be dropped, for some Aurais thingy

No Corolla, no celica, no supra.

No decent sports car what so-ever, you could see it comming when they pulled the plug on a very sucessfull WRC team and went done the pointless F1 scene.

:crybaby: nope looks like its coming to the days of when i had my mk2 escort with people dropping big lumps (cossie) into those. Toyota need a slap on the wrist and in other places. Why drop the mr2 ...celica etc. .....plus as a swansong why not have brought out a really silly fast or good version of them before they dropped them?. I mean who never saw a gen5 celica in a tasty silver or black and said they looked ugly...nobody ,unless they had a stupid french car with a jap bodykit!! (ooh the irony!!!) :!Removed!:

Anyway my tuppence RIP the poor beasties which deserve still to be made yet they make some tosh motor instead.!

(when I said good I mean as in the new versions!!! )

On the other hand, would you really want to see some of the iconic toyota brands wrecked with the currant range of blandness etc???? lets face it, the gen 7 celica was "soft" copmpared to all the others.... would we really have wanted to see an N/A only supra? I think the cars we liked would have just got worse over time... like the ford mustang :D

For some reason Toyota seem intent on getting rid of all traces of sportiness from their cars which is pushing people like me away. I really wanted to find a Toyota to buy that could make my mouth water & that would tick a few other boxes but a car like that simply doesn't exist so I had to look elsewhere, it's such a shame

I doubt it....

Fast cars kills the environment - Toyota is a envorinmentally-friendly car manufacturer now....

Thats one of the the reasons they finished the cars - because of the emissions and the polar ice caps melting because of someone blasting their Supra up the M1....

The solution.....

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

The Toyota Supra Aquada  A beast on the road, a shark in the water... perfect for when the polar ice caps melt and we all drown :D

Is a shame that toyota seem to have the deluded oppinion that being environmentally friendly means you can't make a sports car.

Edit: having said that, there does seem to be quite a few rumours about a 2007 supra

You may be right DA but .... end of the day if demand says make fast cars and they continue to make slow ecofriendly ones theyll take a walk on the path the dinosaurs did ...

high ideals are all good and well till the money starts running out imo ... oh dear im being cynical again :D

still if we all get flooded I like the idea of something that does both B)

Any petrol engine can be made to run on bio-ethanol quite easily though, so you don't need to go faffing around producing special variants except as a marketing stunt ;) Bio-ethanol could be a real alternative to petrol, but the government would rather keep beating us about how bad cars are for the environment and keep us using petrol than allow a switch to a fuel that they couldn't justify the massive enviornmental tax on, even in their deluded view of the world and what's happening to it.

As for a new Supra, rumours circulate all the time. That particular pic has been around for months and months, there was another completely different one last month... Won't happen imo and that's probably for the best.
