Tiscali Connection Problem

Im struggling to connect to the net.....when i do, it only lasts for a few mins. All cables tight and secure. Anyone help me please.

do you have any background software uploading data?

do you have a cheap router like a dlink which gets into some kind of loop?

when the connection drops are you able to ping your router?

Aye you using there standard USB Modem? If you are, then try and get a loan of a different one and try using it, see if you get the same problem.

Do you have mircofilters plugged into all active phone sockets? Try swapping the one that the modem plugs into, the microfilter may just have a loose wire in it.
