Not long after the Yaris was launched in the UK most of them had to be recalled for a 'safety' check! Basically the brake compensator valve & front brake pads had to be replaced because under emergency braking the rear brakes could lock up forcing the car into a spin.Toyota GB even gave every customer a bottle of champagne for there troubles!

The only models not to effected in the Yaris range are the T-Sport as they have disc brakes on the rear of the car. Any owner of a with Yaris with drum rear brakes should get in contact with there local dealer and just make sure that there are is not effected. It sounds FERREIRM that the problem has effected you car.
