I`m on both. Hardly ever go on TOC!. Nothing personal but it`s not as homely as here.... Seems a little stiff. Probably just my interpretation of it.

Exactly the same for me. Although I'm sure if you asked the same question in TOC! you'd get exactly the same answers the other way around. I've only ever met up with CC but hope to go to a TOC meet soon. Maybe it's just because I found TOC 1st but it definitely feels homely. I like it here.

Interesting read :)

As lots of you know I'm mainly a CCUKer, have been for about 4 years now- found TOC much later when I got used to the internet.

Sorry some folk don't like it over there, we do our best! :)

I love it over here on TOC, and know a few members from shows / meets / other forums etc- hope you dont mind if I keep popping on from time to time?

As for us being stiff, well i always though that was better than floppy  ;) only kiddin

Hehe. I dont think it`s the people thats stiff dan. More the forum. The way its laid out... Too pigeon holed. . Perhaps it`s just because it`s different. I dunno  . Anyways, anyone who drives a Celica is alright by me. :D

I'm a member of both sites found this one 1st, then TOC! after, both very good forums and friendly, but TOC! wins it for me as its purely dedicated to the Celica all gens. its also more technical than TOC, with more modding going on by its members. + lots more local meets. TOC is layed out and looks better from a general point of view all makes and models, but TOC! has come along way and is still evolving.

Which brings up another good point. TOC! did go through rather a sticky patch a little while back. And it's good to see it's definately improving. It`s odd really how forums go up and down in popularity. TOC seems to be in the doldrums a bit lately.

I'm on both... I prefer it here... Kinda like which did you see first???

Res dogs or pulp fiction??? Now which is your fav???

I saw Pulp first and rate it much higher than res.

I joined here first and prefer it... Interesting.

I'm on both. But a few months back I've forgotten my TOC! login and password and the silly forum doesn't send me my pasword no matter how many times I've tried so I gave up.

Anyway TOC has everything I need and everyone here is very usefull.

On both, and a paid member on both too :)

I bought my celi from another TOC! member, one of the mods on my site is a mod on TOC!, local meets etc etc

If I want to ask a celica question, I'll go over there as its a specialist forum :)

I'm a member on here and TOC! (I'm a mod on there). I also use 6gc.net and LOC (paid up yesterday as a Gold Member) as I've now got an IS200 as a daily driver.

I used both aswell as GT4OC for a couple of years. I found all three sites to be friendly and useable. Obviously TOC! and GT4OC are more in depth for information purely because of the traffic the sites see and the specifics of the forum topic.

I found TOC to be very very friendly.

I now use motorcycle forums and must say that bikers are more open and relaxed, hardly any bitching, lots of wind ups and lots of swearing (this is the real world afterall, not a Victorian tea room)

  • 1 month later...

Sorry to resurrect this thread but it seems very pertinent that although I joined TOC first as a Gold member, since I signed up at TOC! over 12 months ago I've hardly been on here. It was only a link from TOC! regarding an early Gen Celica that brought me back looking through the old threads to see what I've missed. I recognise a lot of the names on here as TOC! members but to update those who aren't:

I came on here originally to find out more about a car the brother-in-law wanted me to sell for him following his emmigrating.

The car was a Griffith Sunchaser conversion on the Gen 2 Celica.

Well I ended up buying that car myself, doing some 2005 shows, a lot of 2006 shows and also buying a LHD US spec Sunchaser (RA42) and an accident damaged RHD Sunchaser, along with a lot of brochures, manuals handbooks etc along the way.

I also bought the wife a 2001 Avensis 1.8 GS so you could say I'm now well and truly Toyota hooked.

I promise to come on here alot more often now, but TOC! is more of a homestead for me (not forgetting that the TEC also now has a web presence at www.toyotaenthusiasts.com)

Sorry to ramble on, Ian.

I'm on both too, but don't post much on either forum. I've just recently bought a Gen5 Celi for while the Mk1 MR2's being fettled.

But then I'm also on IMOC, Twobrutal, MR2OC (both), Locostbuilders & PlanetMX5. I have a busy life.................not.

I've spent half my life on the Celica-Club as i've been a moderator on there for over 4 years :) , i've just stepped down to spend more time looking over other club sites, as has already been said the TOC is more general to all models and the TOC! is more in depth to that model only.

As i own a RAV4 these days, i go directly to that section on here and miss allot of the general chat.

Both clubs are excellent and they have both had their ups and down over the last few years....as the old saying goes "you can't please all the people all the time" :) ..
