Problems With Alloy Wheels?

Avensis

hello everybody, i have an Avensis 1998 1.8L

and i decided for a long time ago to buy some alloy wheels.to make it look cooler.

now..i bought MOMO tuner rims and Marshall low profile tires.

17x7,5 not sure about the tires.

when i got it on the car it looked fantastic!! the wheels made the car.

But a month a go, this stupid taxi driver rams into my rear and totals my rear. (got it back on ensurance) :ffs: :ffs: :ffs:

anyho....after it was fixed, it started to make wierd noises, when i talked to the

mechanics they told me it was the new rims that had destroyed the shocks and made that

wierd noise...what the :ffs:  it wasent a problem before, what the hell happend?

is it possible that these rims, destroyed my shocks?

and does any body have recommandations to rims and tires that work with avensis.? :help:

thanks for all answers.

Yeah i agree. Not much chance of the wheel damaging the shocker. If the offsett was wrong then theres a chance of premature bearing wear and maybe wear on suspension joints. But its a low chance in this case

No it wasn't your rims that destroyed your shocks it was the crash, definately.

As for recomendations to rims and tyres i have had my 17's on for over a year with 215/40/17's on and had no problems at all.

Nice choice with the Momo Tuners btw, i nearly went for those.
