Hi as some of you will know I am new to toyota surpa land. I own a 2.0 tt targa. I am trying to find some info about speed limiter as the one time i got to drive it so far the car seemed to cut out at 120 as i backed off it came to life again. I don't have a boost gauge just a green light on dash in yhe middle of the speedo.

Any ideas gratefully recieved. :help:

Jerry.

(hpefully steering rack rebuild kit will arrive from the land of the rising sun this week and we'll get her back on the road.

Yup sounds like the speed limiter to me!!!

To get rid you need a speed limit defeneser, I also thing that Apexi RSM will remove the speed limit!!!

If you get a geared km/mph speedo converter, it raises the speed limiter to 180 mph :D which should me more then enough

one thing? the autobox :D

besides, its the whole idea of people suggesting that all you do is bung a mechanical converter on the cable and all's well.. it isnt as simple as that. The speed signal is used on a lot of ECU functions.

I thought Jerry's car was manual ;)

I seem to recall it being exactly the same as mine factory spec for spec...

I personally run a UK speedo, keeping the speedo signal un molested, but get past the speed limiter by having a mines ECU...

For most people a geared converter is eaiser then wiring in a speed limit defenser, and on a 2.0 GT manual it doesn't mess much up either ;)

Go fast enough and see ;)

Or on a more serious note, only the Japanese imports were limited.
