Odd cycling noise & vibration from the engine at 80 mph! Ok at 90 or 70! Not bad just annoying

Also on idle it is reluctant to go back to 500 revs when idle, even when it is warmed up. seems slow to bring revs down.

I have had a recent oil change & filter. Done 65,000miles fron new.

I have recently has a new VVt-i controller fitted, but it was doing it before then.

I wonder it new spark plugs would help with idle running it's never had any from new from what I can tell.

Anyone tried NGK Iridium ones while I am at it.

Could do with a new air filter as the old std one is rather black & mucky.

Could the MAF be at fault also as I understand I can clean it without replacing it ?

Any other suggestions?

This seems to happen the worst at about 80 mph, the virbration is enough to shake the steering wheel a little bit. Maybe I should check the wheel balancing.

The cycling - could this be my exhaust and varying back pressure, I wonder if my exhaust system has a crack in it

My car has done 70,000 on original exhaust.

Keep below 70!.........................I would not recommend keeping above 90 ;) that could lead to catastrophic loss

Of your licence ;)
