I have a 2000reg corolla. It was bought new by my mum and she had problems with the engine light coming on shortly after she bought it new. the garage replaced a lambda sensor but the light came back. the light would come and go and eventually the car would start chugging and lose power. She took it back to the garage and they did something to it again that seemed to fix it. Sound like they may have cleaned the airflow sensor after incorrectly fitting a new lambda sensor (cost of 80euros). Im going to try giving it a clean as the light has come on again (126K miles on the clock) so il keep you posted. thanks for the guide.

So I've read to use carb cleaner while car shop and friend mechanic suggest to specifically use MAF cleaner. The price difference isn't much Carb Cleaner (4.99) MAF Cleaner (7.99), but was wondering what is the real difference between using one or the other.

Regards.
