Hi everyone i have alway's wanted to buy a corrola and have finnaly done it. My problem is i get a whooshing noise from around the front right hand air vent the fan is off and the vent is closed but the faster you go the louder the noise. I would like to know if this is a common fault. I have a 2001 5 door Corrola 1.4 VVTi with 30000 miles on the clock

I would be greatfull for any assistance

I do get a little bit of a wooshing sound although mine is a 2002 corolla . I previously had a 1991 VW polo which had a far worse woosh to it so it tends not to bother me although i do have an anoying rattle in the back :(

Check if the wooshing is not caused by a faulty door seal or the air moving around the right mirror.

Could be either.

If the fan is off and the vent closed it should definitely NOT be making any noises.
