Weird Dashs On Odometer

Hi there.

My D4D T3-S is coming up to the end of its warranty and yesterday I noticed a little thing that I wondered if anyone here had come across before.

If I have either sidelights or dipped headlights on and cycle through the odometer on the dash, after Trip B and before the total mileage, it shows some dashs.

4 along the bottom (Where the bottom of a 0 would be) starting from the left

2 above the 3rd and 4th dash (where the middle of a 8 would be)

With the headlights off, it doesnt show.

Does anyone have any ideas, got to get it sorted before warranty runs out on 14th July!!

It's nothing to worry about. It's just showing the level of dimming of the cluster of clocks when the lights are on. See your manual for more info.

Can you dim the dash lights then?

I've been searching everywhere for a rheostat but can't fond one!

On my avensis there is a odometer button on the left which toggles between trip A, B and ODO. On the right there is another button with a speedometer symbol on the right. If you press this with the lights on it cycles through about 3 different dash ligh levels.
