Quote For Cambelt Change

My diesel Corolla's coming up to its first cambelt change soon. Just got a quote from local Toyota (RRG in Bury) for £180 inc vat. This seem reasonable?

Anybody else had their cambelt changed on the pre-facelift E12?

i work in an alfa romeo dealership, so from their prices i'd say very reasonable indeed! get it done

i thought corolla's were chains? or is that just t sports/compressors?

Definitely a belt on the diesels.....I#d have a go myself but it looks a bit cramped in there and i can't really be bothered!

Even if you are a novice you could do it in half a day, just double check everything you do! :thumbsup:

It only gets complicated when you have intermediate shafts etc, which you wont!

If there was a Haynes manual I probably would - i changed the belt on my old Polo and 206 before that. I prefer working from a guide to jumping straight in!
