Hey!

Put this in here as its in a few cars.

Was looking at getting an Altezza shortly and was just wondering how much potential the engine has?

I know a bit about the engine but any other info will also be appreciated!

Thanks!

CB ;)

Altezza is the black top dual vvti engine using a RWD platform for mounting. The celica and MR2 had the Red top single vvti transverly mounted engine.

The red top is 200bhp, the black is approx 220bhp.

There are aftermarket superchanrger and turbo kits that fit either engine and they range from around 290-300bhp without having to upgrade internals.

Personally wouldn't go down this route as something like a chaser (2.5TT RWD Drifter) will cost less to buy than what it costs to get a altezza and a charging kit.

Some guys on LOC have turbo'd and supercharged the Alrezza. The Blitz supercharger is a popular model and gives around 270ish bhp, depending on exhaust system, mapping etc

Zee had a Greddy turbo fitted and a few other bits and bobs. Not sure how its doing as he's not been around for a while. A few of the Irish lads are now going the turbo route too. Might be worth getting in touch with them.
