Can somone please help, i went to my local dealer that said i need to paint the whole door and every part in a car even if it has the smallest scratch.

If ill do that it will be very expensive and when ill sell my car in few years i need to give a big discount in the car price becouse it was repainted.

Thanks for your help!

Don`t you have insurance that cover this on your car? I know my insurance would cover it... And why do you have to give a discount?? If it is done at a good bodyshop, no one would ever know that there has bee any scratch there. This is a new car, with new paint, there should be no problem to match up the paintjob, so that no one can tell there has been any work done to your car.

Got to agree with Fred here,

Any professional respray/touch up will NOT devalue the car in any way.

It's more than annoying when some scum takes a key to your pride and joy..............let's' hope it doesn't happen again to you mate !

if ill do the paint job i am doing at my local toyota dealer so it will look like new now dought about it. the cost is about 400pounds.

in Israel this insurance can cover it but even when it covered i will need to pay somthing aroung 200pounds. (i have difficllty to explain it but if the fix price was higher like 1000pounds i still had to pat the 200pounds and that's it, this is the deal).

about the "discount" the israeli trade law sayies that a car that had a paint job after it was bought need to decrese it's value in 5%-10%, i can get beck from the insurence something like 2%-5% money back but it's still in the end, alot of money to loose from 5 ugley scratchs.

in the meanwhile after i went to some paint people all of them says that every part that have a scratch need to be painted all of it (like whole the door or whole hood).

i hope i success to explain my self.

Very well with regard to the money you have to pay out. We have that too, and call it an 'excess'; stupid word for it I think, but essentially an amount you have to pay towards each claim you make. £200 would not be an unusuall amount of excess in the UK.

Not sure about the de-valuing of the car; if the repair is good, then how will anyone know it was re-painted when you come to sell it. Surely the car is worth whatever it's worth and there can't be laws on how much you have to reduce the second hand value by. Can there?

Sorry to hear about this though - it must have been sickening when you found it. I think you have to expect that any car will get some accidental damage at some point in its life, but for someone to deliberately do that is very annoying.

Good luck with getting it fixed though.

Where was your car parked when you had this damage?

This happen to me aswell, but not on your level. I cant believe they did on every corner of the car. its just wrong

I had to start parking my car off the main street cause it.

Like T600 said, its bound to get some accidental damage at some point in its life.

best of luck with the repairs.

That's really bad, why people do horrible things like this I'll never understand :censor:

Its one of 2 reasons in general, either the person is insanely jealous that you have a new car and they dont. Or you have upset somebody who has done it to get there own back.

Either reason is just wrong and i would be devastated if it was my Auris.

Good luck with the repairs

I think it has all been said, but a repair like this is no problem to a quality bodyshop, it is bread and butter stuff, very annoying but easily repaired and repainted. Your insurance company would cover the cost in the UK, but you would have to pay the excess. There would be NO REASON for the car to be de-valued by having this repair carried out professionaly, we only see reductions in the value of the car when a poor repair has been done, requiring further repairs in order to sell the car on. Modern techniques and water based paints are VERY expensive, but good quality finishes can be achieved without you even knowing a repair has been done, sorry to see such an act of vandelism  Kingo
